The business sector needed to understand what is the better approach to continue their activity, this leads to formulating and forecasting different scenarios associated with the impact of the pandemic on its suppliers, customers, and employees. This paper aims to investigate possible scenarios in small businesses in a post- pandemic era and how small businesses are preparing for the return of their activity maintenance. In addition, a theoretical contribution throughout dynamic capabilities perspective. An exploratory study with in-depth inquiries based on a quantitative methodology with small business owners as a sample identifying possible scenarios and what is the future direction of small businesses. Also, a bibliometric analysis was applied and focused on scenario planning, strategy, post-pandemic, and dynamic capabilities. Indexed journals were used to validate the study and VOSviewer software to perform a keyword analysis on co-occurrence and counting. A scenario planning framework for small businesses gives an understanding of what could be the possible outlines for the organization and acquire a better comprehension of what strategies can be used as a supplement to surpass the recent crisis. For last, the conceptualization of the theme relates to dynamic capabilities, scenarios, and the behaviour of small businesses.
Daniel Gandrita, Ana Gandrita, Diana Costa Copyright (c) 2022 e3 - Revista de Economia, Empresas e Empreendedores na CPLP https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://revistas.ponteditora.org/index.php/e3/article/view/671 Fri, 30 Jun 2023 00:00:00 -0400 PROPOSAL OF A DIGITAL MODEL FOR MEDICATION RECONCILIATION USING BLOCKCHAIN AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE https://revistas.ponteditora.org/index.php/e3/article/view/735
The Electronic Health Record (EHR) is the result of a transformation in the current healthcare system, influenced by innovation, integration, and sharing of clinical data. The EHR should include a clinical summary of patients, electronic prescriptions, electronic medication dispensing records, laboratory results, medical images and/or reports, and hospital discharge notes. Prescription errors and therapeutic administration are among the most common avoidable errors in healthcare, ranking as the sixth leading cause of death in the United States and a priority for the World Health Organization since the launch of the “Medication Without Harm” initiative. The objectives of this study are: i) to present a digital therapeutic reconciliation model; ii) to propose an interoperable and legally compliant solution; iii) to integrate Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence technologies into the presented model. Through a descriptive and exploratory literature review, the use of HL7 FHIR and SNOMED-CT standards, a client-CA model for Blockchain, and machine learning and natural language processing models for Artificial Intelligence were proposed. Ensuring the interoperable and secure transmission of clinical data is complex but theoretically feasible. The advantages of therapeutic reconciliation will be measurable through the continuous reduction of morbidity and mortality associated with therapeutic errors.
Ricardo Albuquerque, Luís Filipe Seixas Sardinha, Susana Paulo Albuquerque , Maria Romana Salazar Silva, Eduardo Manuel Leite, Isabel Fragoeiro Copyright (c) 2022 e3 - Revista de Economia, Empresas e Empreendedores na CPLP https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://revistas.ponteditora.org/index.php/e3/article/view/735 Fri, 30 Jun 2023 00:00:00 -0400 LOCALIZATION AND TRANSLATION OF MCDONALD’S WEB PAGES: CROSS-CULTURAL ADAPTATION https://revistas.ponteditora.org/index.php/e3/article/view/723
This article was written as part of the curricular unit on Localization of Software and Web Pages of the Master's in Translation at the School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança. We were interested in reflecting on the need to rethink translations not only from a linguistic perspective, but also from a cultural one, essentially because culture is a fundamental and unique pillar in each nation and absolutely vital to its identity. In this sense, a research focused on the cultural dimension became important, namely by analyzing the McDonalds web pages of each country and the respective perceived cultural adaptations. The analysis was supported by a methodology of a comparative study of the company’s websites, namely in countries on different continents. This analysis was based essentially on the observation and review of the literature that was carried out through a bibliographical research that was guided by a set of criteria previously established with the aim of refining the research. The results presented through a comparative table containing the evaluation criteria, highlight mainly: products; marketing campaigns; multimedia presentation and effects, among others.
Vitor Gonçalves, Syoni Barbosa, Yara Barbosa, Bruno Gonçalves Copyright (c) 2023 e3 - Revista de Economia, Empresas e Empreendedores na CPLP https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://revistas.ponteditora.org/index.php/e3/article/view/723 Fri, 30 Jun 2023 00:00:00 -0400 STAKEHOLDER THEORY—SYSTEMIC LITERATURE REVIEW https://revistas.ponteditora.org/index.php/e3/article/view/727
The Stakeholder Theory breaks away from classical notions of the management of the time to
bring ideas that are so innovative that they are still used today. The main one is the one that
proposes the extension of the conception of who are the key pieces for a company. The present
investigation sought to explore and analyze the literature related to the Stakeholder Theory,
using bibliometric analysis as methodology. This study aims to use a systematic approach to
perform the literature review and a mapping of the most relevant research studies. In this
sense, a rigorous research protocol based on scientific documents published in the Web of
Science database was used. The collected documents are located within a time basis between
1989 and 2020. In the result obtained (n=155), only articles that were analyzed using the R
Bibliometrix tool were included. The analysis of these publications points to a growing trend in
the publication of articles on the Stakeholder Theory. Through the bibliometric analysis of the
results of the global research we highlight the most cited authors, the publications of the authors
over time, and we also highlight the main research themes and countries where studies were
conducted. On the other hand, we also highlight the network of collaboration between
institutions, authors, and countries over time
Rui Jorge Rodrigues da Silva, Pedro Borges Copyright (c) 2023 e3 - Revista de Economia, Empresas e Empreendedores na CPLP https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://revistas.ponteditora.org/index.php/e3/article/view/727 Fri, 30 Jun 2023 00:00:00 -0400 THE INFORMATION SOCIETY: NEW POSSIBILITIES FOR HUMANIZING THE ECONOMY https://revistas.ponteditora.org/index.php/e3/article/view/769
Based on a review of multidisciplinary scientific literature (economic, philosophical, psychological, sociological), we set the objective to reveal new possibilities for humanizing the economy that have emerged in the information society by the third decade of the 21st century. First, we present our interpretation of the concept of humanizing the economy resorting to the notions of humaneness, humanism, opportunism, and alienation. Then, the contribution of computing and digital technologies towards overcoming opportunism is highlighted. Finally, several paths to disalienation that stem from the virtual environment are outlined.
Elena Makeeva Copyright (c) 2023 e3 - Revista de Economia, Empresas e Empreendedores na CPLP https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://revistas.ponteditora.org/index.php/e3/article/view/769 Fri, 30 Jun 2023 00:00:00 -0400 COLLECTION AND ORGANIZATION OF INFORMATION WITHIN THE SCOPE OF A CURRICULAR INTERNSHIP https://revistas.ponteditora.org/index.php/e3/article/view/770
The connection between higher education and the job market is something of great importance and increasingly recognized by academia and the world of work. It is crucial to have a more regular dialogue between both in order to achieve alignment of actions and benefits for both parties.

In this research, we aim to demonstrate how a Portuguese bachelor’s degree in information science assigns a prominent role to students as drivers of their own learning, while teachers become knowledge mediators. As part of their curriculum, students in their final year are required to undertake an internship in an institution for a period of 192 hours. The orientation process involves an advisor from the institution (and a co-advisor if necessary), as well as a mentor from the hosting institution, who together establish an action plan that involves the application of knowledge and skills acquired during the academic part of the degree.

In addition to the introduction, this research includes a literature review that provides a general overview of the problem being addressed, based on published literature in the field of study. The topics covered include Information Science, Information Management, Knowledge Management, the Relationship between Information Management and Knowledge Management, Databases, Database Management Systems, and Data Modeling. The methodology chapter provides a detailed description of all activities carried out during the internship, while the results chapter presents the produced artifacts. The research concludes with a corresponding conclusion.
Cristiana Ramos, Milena Carvalho, Susana Martins, João Vidal Carvalho, Maria Inês Braga, Maria Ivone Cardoso, Ana Branca Carvalho, Eleanora Santos Copyright (c) 2023 e3 - Revista de Economia, Empresas e Empreendedores na CPLP https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://revistas.ponteditora.org/index.php/e3/article/view/770 Fri, 30 Jun 2023 00:00:00 -0400
