In the year marking the 500th anniversary of Luís de Camões’ birth, revisiting and reassessing his work becomes imperative. Camões is a central figure in both Portuguese and global literature, whose impact extends beyond The Lusiads, encompassing lyrical poetry and influencing multiple generations of writers and thinkers. This anniversary provides a unique opportunity to revisit his legacy in light of the latest critical approaches and the cultural and social transformations shaping the contemporary world.
