BETWEEN PICTURES AND COMICS: NOTES ON THE GENRES OF COMICS, COMIC STRIPS AND CHARGES
Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper, which is configured as a qualitative, descriptive study, carried out based on a bibliographical review, intends to present the concept of textual genre, which refers to a relatively stable type of statement endowed with an objective and a function following the context in which it circulates. From this, it seeks to establish an approximation/distance relationship between the genres of Comics, Comics and Cartoons. These genres are currently widely used in classrooms and are recommended in the teaching and learning process by the main national (Brazilian) documents that guide educational processes, such as the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC). Because they are formed hybrid, with verbal and non-verbal language and because they have frames, balloons, pigtails, and onomatopoeia, among others, it is common for these genres to be confused as one. However, to better understand them, it is important to consider that genres are dynamic socio-communicative practices, which undergo variations, which can result in other new genres.
