Authors wishing to publish in NAUS: Lusophone Journal of Cultural and Communication Studies must adhere to the ethical and editorial guidelines outlined below. These are designed to ensure the quality, transparency, and academic integrity of all published material.

1. Ethics in Research and Publication

Authors conducting research involving human participants or human data must comply with ethical principles, particularly those enshrined in the 1975 Declaration of Helsinki, as amended in 2013. Ethical approval from an independent review board is mandatory. Written informed consent must be obtained and retained.

In non-interventional studies, participants must be informed about anonymity, research objectives, and data usage. If applicable, ethical waivers must be documented and submitted with the manuscript.

For full policies concerning research ethics involving vulnerable populations, see Section 14 of the NAUS Editorial Ethics Code.

2. Publication in NAUS

Authors grant NAUS unlimited rights to publish the submitted material. Ethical responsibilities include obtaining consent from all identifiable individuals portrayed in images or mentioned in case studies.

3. Online Research

Online surveys or data collection must clearly inform participants about the study’s purpose, privacy conditions, and withdrawal rights. Surveys must be labeled "confidential". This information should be included in the manuscript submission.
