Guidelines for Special Issues
Special Issues Policy
NAUS: Lusophone Journal of Cultural and Communication Studies welcomes proposals for the publication of Special Issues (SI).
1. Proposal Process
-
Proposals must be submitted by the Scientific Coordinator of the Event (SCE) or an equivalent responsible party.
-
Each proposal is evaluated based on the relevance of the topic, scientific quality of the proposed manuscripts, coherence of the issue, and potential contribution to scientific advancement.
-
To promote diversity and balance, it is strongly recommended that authors affiliated with the same institution do not exceed one-third of the total contributors. Failure to meet this criterion may lead to exclusion.
-
The final decision on whether to accept a Special Issue is made by the Editor-in-Chief and/or the Scientific Council.
2. Editorial Workflow
-
Once approved, a final deadline for manuscript submission is established (typically within three months).
-
A tentative publication date for the Special Issue is agreed upon.
-
The Editor-in-Chief of NAUS conducts a final evaluation of the issue and may request changes or adjustments prior to publication.
-
Each Special Issue receives a dedicated Crossref DOI, with exceptions considered on a case-by-case basis upon formal request by the SCE.
This structured approach ensures that Special Issues published by NAUS meet the same high standards of editorial quality, peer review, and ethical integrity that define the journal's core mission.
