As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission includes the names of all authors, their emails, ORCID iDs, and current affiliation.
  • The submission file is written in (European or Brazilian) Portuguese or (American or British) English. In the case of Portuguese, articles that follow or do not follow the Orthographic Agreement of the Portuguese Language (1990).
  • The Identification and Publication Consent Forms (check Guidelines for Authors) have been filled out and attached alongside the submission file.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it under consideration for another journal (alternatively, an explanation can be provided in the Comments for the Editor section during submission).
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Guidelines for Authors.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The submission file is in Word, RTF, or OpenOffice format.

During submission or in the Identification Form, authors can choose among three distinct peer review systems:

  • Single-blind peer review: anonymous reviewer/disclosed author.
  • Double-blind peer review: anonymous reviewer/anonymous author.
  • Open peer review: disclosed reviewer/disclosed author.

In the absence of a specified preference, the default protocol is a double-blind peer review process.
