Abstract

Introduction: Hospitalization confers vulnerability to the child and family, triggering feelings such as fear and insecurity. Both are placed in an unfamiliar environment, with new routines. Faced with this problem, the Specialist Nurse in Child and Pediatric Health should seek to intervene by humanizing their care and minimizing the impact of hospitalization.

Objectives: To identify scientific production related to humanization practices in Nursing in a pediatric context.

Methodology: Integrative Literature Review carried out in the databases: CINAHL Complete; MEDLINE Complete; Nursing & Allied Health Collection: Comprehensive; Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials and MedicLatina, available on the EBSCO search engine, published between 2012 and 2022. The selection and relevance analysis of the articles was performed by the reviewers independently.

Results: Of the 240 initial articles, 16 articles were selected, according to previously defined criteria. Most studies refer to ludotherapy as one of the interventions that should be used by the EESIP in the humanization of care. Family-centered care and the humanization of organizational structures and environments are other interventions mentioned.

Conclusion: This research shows the interventions that motivated the humanization of care in order to improve the quality of care and enhance the healthy growth and development of children. It will be important, for this, to promote the training of professionals, assuming play therapy as a preponderant factor, structures and environments suitable for each stage of development, with this care centered on families.
