Implementation of asset management in the water supply and sewage system of Barra de Pojuca at Embasa — Empresa Baiana de Águas e Saneamento

Abstract
An effective Asset Management system is crucial to maximize the value of the organization's resources, ensuring regulatory compliance, reducing operational costs and improving the company's operational efficiency. As defined in NBR ISO 55000, the Asset Management System (AMS) comprises the entire “management system for asset management whose function is to establish the asset management policy and the objectives of asset management”.
After preparing the asset management planning and modeling, Embasa implemented the methodology in the pilot system located in the municipalities of Camaçari — BA and Mata de São João — BA, comprising the water supply and sewage systems of Barra de Pojuca.
This work aims to demonstrate how the methodology developed at Embasa was implemented. During this implementation, monthly monitoring reports were developed that indicated the actions being carried out and corrective measures carried out, an Asset Replacement and Rehabilitation Plan was drawn up, as well as an Operation and Maintenance Plan, in addition to the development of the asset risk matrix of the region.
