Market for scientific publications in Portuguese a view from SciELO model, from 2001 to 2020

Abstract
This paper focuses on the market study of scientific publications in Portuguese, through an analysis of the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), based on a series of essays published by Leite (s.d.a)b)c)) and Leite (2015), on aBrazilian website thatsupportsscience, Galoá.com.br. The results of this work show a discrepancy in the impetus of publication of scientific production, through traditional and renowned publishers of the genre, between Portuguese and the otherlanguages, especially English. Market concentration, reflected in the prices charged, is among the reasons for the search for more accessible and democratic alternatives, both in terms of access and dissemination. However, there is only space for alternatives at the level of market niches. Among the possibilities is the SciELO model, a reference to the analytics to demonstrate.
