OTIMISMO NOS JOVENS DO ENSINO SUPERIOR DE PORTUGAL: UMA ANÁLISE DAS PROPRIEDADES PSICOMÉTRICAS DA LOT-R

El presente estudio evaluó las propiedades psicométricas de la versión portuguesa del LOT-R (Life Orientation Test-Revised) en una muestra de 934 estudiantes universitarios portugueses. Se adoptó un diseño cuantitativo descriptivo, con muestreo aleatorio y recolección de datos mediante un cuestionario electrónico estructurado. La adecuación de la matriz de correlaciones para el análisis factorial fue confirmada por el índice KMO = 0,70 (valor aceptable) y por la Prueba de Esfericidad de Bartlett (χ² = 1034,63; p < 0,0001), lo que indica correlaciones significativas entre los ítems. La consistencia interna de la escala, evaluada mediante el alfa de Cronbach, alcanzó 0,68 —valor considerado adecuado para escalas breves de personalidad y consistente con estudios previos realizados en Portugal (Laranjeira, 2008) y en Brasil (Bandeira et al., 2002). El análisis factorial exploratorio, con extracción de dos factores sin rotación, corroboró la estructura teórica propuesta, que diferencia entre Optimismo y No pesimismo. El Factor 1 (Optimismo) explicó el 39,18 % de la varianza total, mientras que el Factor 2 (No pesimismo) contribuyó adicionalmente, alcanzando el 60,12 % de la varianza acumulada. Las cargas factoriales de los ítems positivos en el Factor 1 variaron entre 0,456 y 0,703. Por su parte, los ítems negativos presentaron cargas elevadas en el Factor 1 (0,430 a 0,742) y cargas negativas en el Factor 2 (−0,312 a −0,620), confirmando el patrón bifactorial característico del instrumento. Los resultados indican que la versión portuguesa del LOT-R posee propiedades psicométricas satisfactorias para su uso en poblaciones universitarias, respaldando su validez como medida de optimismo disposicional. La estructura bifactorial observada está alineada con evidencias internacionales (Marshall et al., 1992; Ribeiro et al., 2012; Bastianello et al., 2014), reforzando la robustez conceptual y la aplicabilidad transcultural del instrumento. Estos hallazgos contribuyen al estudio de variables disposicionales positivas que, junto con constructos motivacionales como las teorías implícitas de la inteligencia (Dweck & Leggett, 1988), ayudan a predecir patrones de adaptación y persistencia en momentos críticos de transición académica.
